My friend Ally and I get together once every couple of weeks to hang out and catch up and get out of the house with our little girls. Whenever we’re sitting in one of our living rooms, watching her one-year-old play while Susanna kicks her legs on the floor or sleeps in arms, I always looks around, wide-eyed, and say, “really? Is this my life? Me and my mom friends on the floor with our babies?”
Today I am thankful for those mom friends. In an effort to create structure for Susanna, I often spend all day at home, mastering the eat-sleep-play schedule. I need those mom friends. They commiserate, they encourage, they advise, and they just plain get it.
